Andrew McNeill has written and appeared as soloist on BBC TV and Radio, Scottish Television, SKY Television and International cable TV networks. He has toured across Europe, Egypt and the USA as well as broadcast live in the Edinburgh International Festival on the Internet. His concert appearances as a concerto soloist include the Barbican Concert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Chichester Cathedral.

As a saxophonist, he has played at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and toured the USA. Other tours include a Spanish production of Kurt Weill ad Bertolt Brecht’s ‘Threepenny Opera’ (‘A opera dos tres reas’) starring Luis Tosar, which received 6 nominations for the aria Casares Theatre Awards. A notable BBC TV recording is a performance of a crossover style ‘Sonata for sax & piano’ by Phil Woods (close friend of Charlie Parker) of which renowned clarinettist Michael Collins commented, “as soon as he puts the saxophone in his mouth it just speaks”.

Multiple times national competition winner, Andrew McNeill also helped trigger a rethink in the ‘BBC TV Young Musician of The Year’ format, helping pave the way for the introduction of ‘BBC TV Young Jazz Musician of The Year’. After his televised jazz performance in ‘BBC TV Young Musician of The Year’, which caused a stir, Andrew McNeill then went on to win ‘BBC Radio 2 Young Musician of The Year’ the following year.
